Steak Wednesday and Takeaway Pizzas

Steak Wednesday includes two Wakanui Rump steak meals and a bottle of wine for $50, 6pm-8pm.

Takeaway Pizza is now available Wednesday-Sunday midday to 8:30pm.  Vege $12 and Pepperoni or Smoked Chicken for $15.

Sorry, no stuffed crusts, just pizza as it should be.

Tony is our Head Chef.  One of the UK's top pub chef's, Tony has recently moved to the area ater selling his award winning gastropub in the Cotswolds. 

He brings a fresh and exciting pub menu that includes a range of Gourmet Burgers, Fish & Chips, and Half-Kilo Texan Ribs.

OUR STORY

German settlers arrived in Upper Moutere in 1843 and after a rough start, settled Upper Moutere, then called Sarau, in 1850.  Cordt Bennseman also started building the Moutere Inn in 1850 as a resting place between Richmond and Motueka - in the heart of the new hop growing area.

The Moutere Brewing Company has been established by the current owners of the Inn to offer brews that the early settlers in the area would have missed.  We hope you also enjoy them. 

1516 PILSNER is our take on the classic Pilsner style.  Sharp refreshing hop flavours and a full malty background.

SARAU LAGER is brewed in the Munich Helles style. Sarau Lager offers malty flavours with a refreshing and gentle hop finish.  Silver Medal Winner, A&P Show Beer Awards 2012.

NEUDORF ALE is an Altbier and is similar in style to an NZ draft or ale. It's malt driven, copper brown and has a low hop profile.   Bronze Medal Winner, NZ Beer Awards 2011.

Visitors to the pub don't just have history and great views to occupy them - the pub has a fantastic selection of beer including real ale served through three traditional "beer engines" and thirteen other taps serving a continuously changing range of New Zealand "craft" beer and cider.
If beer isn't your thing the pub's wine list is drawn from local wineries, all within 10km of the pub.  View the wine list.
