Moutere Inn

HOPS & GLORY was formed in 2006 with the aim of celebrating New Zealand’s craft brewers.  The group organised beer festivals in Upper Moutere, showcasing craft beers from New Zealand’s many micro-breweries.

These events proved highly successful - so successful that the group were confident about taking the next step and running their own pub.

In October 2008 the groupt bought The Moutere Inn, built in 1850 and believed to be the oldest pub in New Zealand. 

The pub is now returning to its traditional position as a focal point of the Moutere community as well as provide a comfortable place for locals and visitors to enjoy great beer, wine, food and good company.

By December 2010, the Hops and Glory group consisted of Dave Watson and Andrew Cole, with the Moutere Inn continuing to showcase real ales, the best craft beers New Zealand has to offer and a full range of wines from the Moutere area.
